Who holds your details
da Tribe cooks out of its own kitchen in Villa, St. Vincent & the Grenadines. The founder, Mauricia Fessal, runs it, and she's the one responsible for what we hold on you. WhatsApp or call +1 (784) 496-3155, any day, or write to hello@dafoodtribe.com.
What we ask for, and why
Your name, your number and your address, so we can cook for you and find you. What you order, so the kitchen remembers your week without you repeating yourself. And if you're landing or flying out, your dates, so your first meal and your last one line up with your flights. That's the lot. We don't ask your age, your income, your school year or anything else that has nothing to do with feeding you.
Allergies, and what you don't eat
If you tell us you're allergic to shellfish, or that you don't eat pork, that sits in your file for exactly one reason: so the person plating your dinner gets it right. We don't build lists off it, we don't sell it, and nobody outside the kitchen reads it.
Your card
We don't take cards online yet. Today you pay by bank transfer, by cash, or on the card machine at your door, and that machine is the bank's, not ours.
We never ask for, type, store, photograph or write down a card number. Not on paper, not in WhatsApp, not in email, not anywhere in our system. Send us one by message and we'll delete it and point you at a proper way to pay.
And the other half of that promise, because it protects you: if anyone ever messages you asking for your full card number and says they're da Tribe, it isn't us.
Who else touches it
A short list, and it's the whole list. First Atlantic Commerce handles card payments and refunds — through its PowerTranz payment page when paying by card online goes live. Republic Bank holds the money. Cloudflare puts this website in front of you and counts the page views. Zoho carries our mail. Airtable holds the order book. Each one sees only the part it needs to do its job.
How we keep the card side safe
There is no card field anywhere on this website — nowhere on dafoodtribe.com can you type a card number, and that's by design. The day you can pay by card on this site, your card details are entered with our payment provider, on the payment provider's own secure page: keeping that page safe is their whole job, and it's the only place a card number gets typed.
Every page here travels over an encrypted connection — the padlock, every page, every time.
We never take a card number in chat. That's a rule every person in this kitchen works under: if card details ever land in a WhatsApp or an email, they get deleted — no screenshot, no forward — and you get pointed at a proper way to pay.
Behind the counter: every person and every tool that touches our systems has its own named login with only the access it needs. Nobody shares a password, every one is long and used in one place only, and two-step sign-in is on wherever it's offered.
And if we ever suspect a payment-security problem, the plan is already written down: lock the affected door the same day, call the bank and the payment provider the same day, write down exactly what happened, and tell any affected customer the truth, fast, from Mauricia herself.
The card rulebook, and where we sit in it
The card companies hold every business that takes a card to one security standard: PCI DSS, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. We're not exempt from it and we're not going to be vague about it.
Because no card number ever reaches us — the payment provider's page takes it, ours never does — da Tribe sits in the standard's simplest bracket, the one written for businesses that hand the whole card job to a provider and never touch it themselves. Its name is Self-Assessment Questionnaire A, SAQ A for short.
That assessment is completed and signed before the first card is taken on this site, not after, and it's looked at again every year. If you want to know where any of your money goes on its way to us, ask, and you'll get a straight answer.
How long we keep it
While you're with us, and afterwards only for as long as our books have to show what was sold and to whom — that timetable is the law's, not ours, and we don't keep anything a day past needing it.
Want a copy? Want it gone?
One message. WhatsApp us and we'll send you everything we hold on you, or delete it. No form, no ticket number, no waiting. The only thing we can't delete is what a receipt or a tax record has to keep.
If something looks wrong
Tell us the same day, on the number above. We'd rather hear it early and be wrong than late and right.
